Sarah is passionate about architectural conservation and the economic regeneration of Colne and its rural villages, as she believes that there is much untapped tourism potential in the area. To that end, Sarah, who is also Chairman of the Colne Neighbourhood Plan on Colne Town Council, has applied for heritage grants with some success. She is also Chairman of the Pendle Heritage Centre Trust, where she is drawing on her business and marketing experience to build the Heritage Centre’s commercial operation.
Now in its second year, Sarah was instrumental in the founding of the Colne Business Improvement District - a body run by local businesses to improve Colne as a town in which to do business.
Passionate about eradicating litter, fly tipping and rats in the Borough, Sarah regularly turns out with local litter picking groups and focusses the attention of District Enforcement on litter hotspots.
Super responsive to residents, she loves to solve problems that have proved to be intractable prior to her involvement. She has active Social Media accounts which show the breadth of issues she involves herself in, from Potholes to Planning.
Sarah sits on Pendle Council’s Policy and Resources Committee, its Gearing Up for Growth Panel, its Climate Emergency Working Group and Colne’s Premises Improvement Board.
