At a meeting of Councillors this evening (12th March), Paul White was elected as the new Leader of Pendle Conservatives following Joe Cooney’s decision to step down.
The new Group Leader, Paul White, said, “I am delighted to have received the support of my colleagues tonight, and would like to place on record my thanks to Joe Cooney who has not only been a fantastic Group Leader and Council Leader, but also a great friend.”
“There are many things in Pendle which have stalled under the current Administration and we’ll be putting forward our positive plan to get Pendle going again.”
“I want Pendle Conservatives to represent everyone in our Borough and it’s my aim to make sure we do that.”
Paul is 31, and was born and educated in Pendle. He runs a business here and lives in Laneshaw Bridge in the Boulsworth ward which he has represented for 7 years. He has been the Deputy Leader of the Conservatives in Pendle for 5 years and was the Regional Director for Vote Leave in the EU Referendum.
